We first drive to were St.Paul first came to Athens from Thessaloniki we then go on to visit the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, Mars Hill (Areopagus), (Acts 17:22) were Apostle Paul delivered his sermon to the Athenians. You then proceed by visiting the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Temple of Nike, the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Plaka, the Ancient agora,(St. Paul’s meeting place), the Roman agora, Academy, the University and the National Library.

Our tour will take you to visit the Corinthian Canal, and the Ancient city of Corinth. The famous Canal merges the prefectures of Attica and Corinthia, as well as the Peloponnese Peninsula with Central Greece, connecting the Aegean with the Ionian Sea. It is 78 meters high and 25 meters wide and cuts through the Isthmus of Corinth. Our tour continues and shortly we will reach the ancient city of Corinth (visit) where St. Paul lived and preached for 18 months. Back in the ancient times Corinth was amongst the wealthiest cities. The ruins of this once splendid city lie high up on a hill above the modern town, overlooking both the Corinth and the Saronicos Gulfs. In fact, ancient Corinth owed it’s wealth and it’s power to it’s advantageous position being between two harbors, (Lechaion in the Corinthian Gulf and Kechreae on the Saronic Gulf ). The principal sights include the Temple Apollo (6th C.B.C) , The fountain of Pirene, the Market place, Theate, the Odeum.

Also we will also visit Kechreai were St. Paul disembarked to Ephesus.

We will have lunch in a traditional greek Taverna and return to Athens.

After lunch, Athens taxi tour will drive you to Marathon, where the Athenians fought the Persians in a very decisive battle, and every year the whole world joins the Greek runners to run the Marathon race to commemorate the Athenian victory over the Persians. The official distance of the race is 42,195 kilometers (26 miles 385 yards). The event is named after the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon to Athens. The historical accuracy of this legend is in doubt, contradicted by accounts given by Herodotus, in particular. The Marathon was one of the original modern Olympic events in 1896, though the distance did not become standardized until 1921. More than 800 marathons are contested throughout the world each year, with the vast majority of competitors being recreational athletes. Larger marathons can have tens of thousands of participants. The Battle of Marathon during the Greco-Persian Wars took place in 490 BC and was the culmination of the first attempt by the Achaemenid Empire of Persia, under King Darius I, to subjugate Greece.

This tour will end with Athens Taxi Tour taking you back to your Hotel or Ship thus ending another of our tours, a day you will never forget.

Visit Sparta, the birth place of the toughest well trained and well known warriors in the ancient world The Spartans, Tour Corinth Canal, ancient Corinth, Mycenea, Nauplio, ancient Sparta, Mistras , Athens

1st Day: > Athens, Corinth canal, ancient Corinth, Nafplion, Sparta

Athens taxi tour will drive you along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf until we reach the Corinth Canal which joins the Saronic Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth (short stop).

In fact, ancient Corinth owed it’s wealth and it’s power to its advantageous position being between two harbors, (Lechaion in the Corinthian Gulf and Kechreae on the Saronic Gulf ).

The principal sights include the Temple Apollo (6th C.B.C), the fountain of Pirene, the Market place, Theater the Odeum.

Visit Isthmus, the site of the ancient port of Kechreai where St. Paul disembarked to Ephesus. Visit Mycenae with it’s Cyclopean walls, Agamemnon’s Palace (acropolis) and the tomb of Clytemnestra and also the tomb of Atreus, and the Lions Gate. Athens taxi tours will drive you to the first Capital city of modern Greece Nafplion. After lunch visit the Venetian fortress of Palamidi and we will drive to Sparta.

Dinner & overnight in Sparta.

2nd Day: > Sparta, Mistras, Corinth canal, Athens

In the morning we will drive you to visit the sites of ancient Sparta and Byzantine fortified town of Mistras. Sparta was founded by the Dorian’s in the 9th century B.C. and in the next few years it developed into the most powerful military city in Greece, thanks to the efficient laws, perfected by the law-giver Lycurgus. The Spartans deferred from the rest of the Greeks in culture, and the way of life. The Spartans character were mostly military, the life of the citizen was dedicated to serving the country, and the art of war.

Mistras, was once a glittering fortress of the Byzantine Empire, with Palaces, houses, monasteries, and churches founded in the 13th century during the Frankish occupation of the Peloponnese. Mistras is now a huge museum of architecture, sculpture and decorative art.

After lunch we’ll drive back to ATHENS ending yet another one of our spectacular tours.

You can customize your private tour at anytime on the way or before your arrival contacting Athens taxi tour.
